Gateway School

Description:

Gateway School, a program of HASA, is a nonpublic, coeducational facility for students ages 2-15 with communication disorders related to autism, developmental delay, hearing impairment, other health impairment, multiple disabilities, and speech or language impairment. The program emphasizes language development with the acquisition and retention of academic and social communication skills and the development of appropriate social behavior through evidence based best practice. The development of social and adaptive/life skills for school and community is fostered throughout the program for all students. The principles of applied behavior analysis are implemented for shaping behaviors, learning, and skill acquisition. An interprofessional team of educators and therapists deliver a comprehensive educational program meeting the needs of the whole child.
